This coming Friday (19th Feb) is the Skipton & Settle Branch Annual General Meeting starting at 7:30pm at The Soroptimists Rooms, 28 Otley Street, Skipton.
Richard Corbett MEP is our guest speaker to precede the AGM.

The CLP have to select a Police & Crime Commissioner candidate to stand for Labour in North Yorkshire. There will be a CLP meeting on Friday 5 September at the Soroptimists Rooms, Skipton starting at 7:30 to elect our chosen candidate to stand for Labour.
The candidates are Kevin McNerney (an employment law barrister from Harrogate) and Steve Howley (brigade secretary of the Fire Brigade Union in North Yorkshire).
The next meeting will be on Friday 15 January at the Soroptimist Rooms, Otley Street, Skipton, from 7:30pm. We will have special guest speaker Julie Cooper (MP for Burnley) in attendance, and her talk will be followed by the Constituency AGM.
We hope to see as many members present as possible.
The next Skipton/Settle branch meeting will be on Friday 18 December at Soroptimist Rooms, Otley Street, Skipton at 7:30pm. The special guest speaker will be Oliver Heath from Labour’s Yorkshire & Humberside Regional Office; he will be discussing an overview of his role and Labour’s relationship with the region.
Following the meeting we will be popping around the corner to go to the Three Links Club (on Rectory Lane) for a social evening.
Last night’s Ripon branch meeting – lots of new members, lots of seasoned members, new chair, secretary and campaign / membership secretary elected, all age groups represented, lovely to meet you all, thanks for your welcome!
The next Ripon branch meeting will be on Tuesday 10 November at St John the Baptist Church, Bondgate, Ripon at 7:30pm.
The next Skipton/Settle branch meeting will be on Friday 20 November at Soroptimist Rooms, Otley Street, Skipton at 7:30pm. The special guest speaker will be Naz Shah, MP for Bradford West, who famously ousted George Galloway at the 2015 General Elections. We are very honoured to have her.
A very good turn out at tonight’s meeting in Skipton – 40 new members have joined our CLP since last month, and 5 of them were in attendance this evening. Welcome to you all!
We discussed our new website social media strategy as well as candidates for the local elections in May, amongst other things. Watch this space for more news on both of those in due course.
